WRSG will be running a Christmas format MOST of the time, beginning at 12:01 Friday morning, while still allowing for our syndicated programs to stay in their original schedule. As more stations go the 'wall-to-wall' route, I thought we should consider a hybrid approach, allowing folks a true choice. This will keep the bluegrass fans happy during the weekends. Also, "Knights Radio" began airing "Music Beat Online," hosted by Frank Allan, just a few weeks ago, so this will allow for an audience to build during the Christmas season.
This approach is counter to what we have always done, so it's hoped that people won't see us (meaning me) as pre-conversion Scrooges. I like Christmas music as much as anyone, but, again, we're a variety station, so we should live up to that billing. Ironically, during the weekends, most of our time is taken up with syndicated programming. This would usually be the time most people would listen. Again, if this bites us (meaning me) in the butt, so be it.
