Christmas Music

Anyone know who is giving up format for Christmas Music this year? Seems like Hot 95 and Magic are the two that normally do it. Playing Christmas Music might really hurt Hot 95.1 this time around with The Beat looking over their shoulder.

Magic is playing Christmas music. it's an OK mix, I give it a 6 on the scale of 1-10. Not enough familiar or traditional Christmas music.

Now is the time to flip a struggling station to lite AC. Put Billboards up now. Who could pull that off? Univision? AGM? If I were Entravision I'd flip 105.9 to AC. They have a strong signal and is one of the "forgotten" signals in Albuquerque.

Wow, no Lite AC AND no smooth jazz in the market. The Country stations or The Peak may benefit from it.

Radio Princess is right. Hot 95 usually starts playing Christmas the day after Thanksgiving. But today is the Saturday after and still no Christmas music. If they do, they may not get 100% of their P1 listeners back after the new year. But I don't think it would hurt to spike in a couple of Christmas songs an hour by R&B/soul artists such as Toni Braxton and Barry White.
