Christmas music?

Well, I had to ask. I'll regret it I am sure, but how many times has 92.9 played "Tender Tennessee Christmas" or Burl Ives "Holly Jolly Christmas". Since they started their Christmas programming just after Labor Day, how many times have those songs been played?

I might hunker down on that midnight shift on Delta's station providing it is not the all disco format. Where do I audition? lol

On a serious note, what do really have took forward to in radio formats in 2009?

Just guessing, but I'll bet 'Live Radio' is not on the horizon. But it could be interesting.

I for one am no big fan of Christmas music. Oh sure I can handle a few songs but how many times can you hear the same song done by a different artist in one day? The other day kdf had a "Merry-thon" with a 103 Min. music sweep! I took them off my pre set and thought I would give them a try again.WRONG! I'll keep it on the sports/talk stations and listen to my Ipod when I want music.
Bahumbug!

i gave it a shot for about an hour the other day..i had no idea there were so many alleged country artists that recorded bad versions of perfectly otherwise Christmas songs..

Ugh, about as often as they played "Escape" during the first ten months of the year? :D

Amen.

Those guys should "take a break" at Christmas and let us hear Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, Dean Martin, Doris Day, Johnny Mathis, etc. at Christmas. They knew how to sing Christmas songs.

Feel for the DJs! We can turn it off, but they must listen to this crap for two more weeks!

Years ago after a format change from album rock to mainstream country, I remember this DJ said that he would never, ever learn to like country music. He'd play it, but like it, ahhh, no. Guess what? After awhile, he did become a fan. LOL I am sure many in here might have had a similar story. I guess folks can play anything when they see that a box of ceral cost 5 bucks huh? Eating becomes a habit huh?

The real joke about this is 92.9 and stations like them is this playing Christmas music just as the Major league baseball season is winding down and also playing styles of music songs that these stations would not normally play. Think Burl Ives is a big part of what they do in July? I mean playing Justine Timberlake is bad enough. Ok, I know 92.9 does play Justin Timberlake. Ahhh, do they? ;)

Maybe Rupert Holmes can write "The Egg Nog Song"

"Yes I like egg nog at winter, and getting caught in the snow... " "I am not in to yogurt...boiled custard's more my game NEXT ??
