Christmas Music

When did majority of AC radio stations started all Christmas music (24/7) for December? I remember back then majority of AC stations playing mix of today's soft rock with christmas music mix in. Was it after 2001?

Sounds about right. If I'm not mistaken, a Kansas City radio station started playing all-Christmas music in November and after ratings success, it was copied all over the country. The problem is stations starting much too early on Christmas music.

I remember hearing that stations started it in 2001 to try and raise spirits after the 9/11 Attacks. I don't know how true that is, or remember where I heard it from - but it could be true.

You call it a problem but the $$$$$$$$$$$$$ doesn't lie. Locally in Hartford I heard Lite 100.5 was able to increase what they charge for a spot and they've been selling out.
