Christmas Music

I did do that yesterday. Star 93.3 did flip but not KCMS yet. Probably soon if they aren’t planning to flip today. The New 96.1 is planning to flip this morning.

Audacy has flipped WSPA-FM in Greenville-Spartanburg to all-Christmas, continuing the tradition of being the first station they own to switch (and normally the last to change back after New Years).

KCMS hasn't flipped yet. Could be tomorrow, next week, or the week before Thanksgiving. KRWM and KSWD could be next week or that same week as well. KKCW will probably flip on Nov. 9th or Nov. 10th but it could be slightly earlier like Nov. 6 (most likely not Nov. 2 or 3rd since they didn't announce the day yet like they have been doing the last couple of years) due to KFIS beating them on Oct. 31, but usually secular stations do this based on when the other secular station does it not a CCM station. KSFI in SLC will most likely be next week or the week after that and they usually do a guessing contest so that people will guess when they flip instead of them knowing. WLIT is planning to flip tomorrow at 4 p.m. though. WMOV and numerous other stations will probably flip on Nov. 10th @ 5 pm since they didn't flip yet.

Ah, the pleasures of the "Ignore" feature on some folk's profile. In the case recently with Jackindabox and their frantic and repetitive Christmas music posts, I highly recommend it.
Tbh this is the Christmas music thread. Are you guessing I need to be blocked from Radio Discussions or just ignored? I’m not the only one who is doing repetitive Christmas Music posts tbh. I think I post them pretty fast usually based on who flipped yesterday and who didn’t.

I’m not sure there’s any real point to speculation about who might flip on what day, or maybe not, and if they don’t, what other day they might, or maybe not. Nor an accounting of station upon station and what day they did what and how it does or doesn’t compare to last year, the year before that or 2006, etc.

For those who want instant gratification and to actually see and hear a transition to Christmas programming, you can watch the video in the link below and get your kicks. Music Choice, which provides several music channels to TV providers like Comcast, Cox, Spectrum, DirectTV and others, has a channel called "Sounds of the Seasons". That channel plays love songs around Valentine's Day, Irish ditties for St. Paddy's Day, Easter-themed stuff for that holiday, patriotic tunes for July 4th, etc. Throughout most of October they play Halloween-themed selections, and at around midnight early on the morning of November 1 (depending on time zone), they promptly switch off the Halloween stuff and switch over to Christmas music. There are usually a few who religiously watch for that transition each and every year, record it and put it on YouTube to be preserved for posterity.

So for those who live and die by knowing when and how stations will flip, and hope to be there for yourselves to witness it, have a look at the video below from a few nights ago showing when Music Choice did their transition. If it brings you joy, feel free to watch it over and over as many times as you wish:

Yeah, I don't get it either. With all that's going on in the world today and the industry, THAT's what is important to some people?
Bizarro-world.

Sirius XM does different holiday channels too since they don’t switch The Blend or The Message to Christmas tunes.
