Well, it's not 100% Christmas format as I would have liked it to be, but I give them credit for introducing the sounds of the season first. For a station such as Sunny 94.1, the move will benefit them. Retailers who don't have satelite or don't want to be bothered playing CDs will gravitate to a station that is playing songs to put their customers in a "buying mood."
I'm still hoping in the days ahead they go all holiday favorites. It will be the best promotion they can do on a shoe-string budget and the format is very friendly to advertisers. They will get noticed.
Most major markets in the country have already flipped mainly the AC stations to all Christmas and this helps spike numbers for stations who do so.
