This is like the 3rd time I've seen these "wishlists" on the SC board. Guys, they're still as nonsensical as ever.

Hey C.C.! Yes I remember Magic 103.1 signing on in April, 1989. I believe just before the format change, Power 103 was playing Album Rock (or they were experimenting with the Rock 40 format, I've forgot exactly) for about a week. I do remember them dropping the John Young sweepers, replacing them with ones done in-house by Ron Marsh. At that point, they were at the bottom with a 1.9, so I guess it didn't matter what they've did.

I think it's time that someone did a tribute to Columbia radio...BC (Before Consolidation). Any takers? I could send in some stuff if someone was up to the task.

I just wish I could have a better selection of HD (Hybrid Digital) radios.....No such thing as "High Def", Not to mention a better selection of HD stations. HD will work if the big corps don't get to greedy.

Magic 103.1 signed on in April of 1989.
General Manager - Barry Brown
Mornings - Steve Walker and Diane Beardsley
Middays - K.C. Carson
Afternoons/PD - Brent Johnson
Nights - Doug Kelly

HOLY COW!!!!! My memory is better than I thought on Magic :). When Power went away I remember Yes 97 being the station to turn to for good dance remixes then they started the Rock 40 thing till they went a boot scootin' boogie... CC1

Oldies/Gold Based AC, actually. Ed Shane consulted. I still have his presentation buried somewhere in all my radio detritus. They chose "Magic" so they could go either direction with the format.
