Christopher Rude Sidekick in mid 90's ?

Don't ask me why - probably because I was listening to some ZZ Top - but I got to thinking about what was the name of Christopher Rude's female sidekick in the mid 90's at 96 Rock. I seem to recall that she was blonde, left the show rather abrubtly by faxing in a resignation in the middle of the night, and there was some rumor that she had dated one of the guys from ZZ Top...at any rate, does anyone know who I am talking about ?

Must be Lorna Love. She pre-dates my time in Atlanta but I know she was with Rude before Beth and I know Beth did not leave under those conditions. If I remember correctly when they originally fired Rude, Beth and Steve stayed on at 96 rock.

Roddy if you are talking about when he left in 1996 which was the first time I am pretty sure it was Beth doing middays not Lorna and Steve was doing the board for the JB & B. Lorna left Rude's show in 1992.

Nope. Lorna did leave in the early 90's but filled in middays during summer, 1996. Steve Sutton (but not the same one as Boomer) also filled in during middays for awhile.

Rude left Labor day of 96 so they would have overlapped I guess. I know Beth was on air somewhere after Rude left perhaps news and traffic during John Boy and a weekender.

Lorna or Beth---doesn't really matter, they were both frustratingly dim-witted.

Beth Kepple was/is one of the more intelligent females in radio. I would strongly disagree with your comment.
You gotta remember.....her job was to cater to the Atlanta rock market which is composed of mainly white males. This is group is not particularly known as "progressive, philosophical, or contemplative." The Rude-Beth offering was typical of AOR morning radio - sexual innuendo and sports - and it's what the suits wanted.
Beth was a positive attitude that everyone naturally liked.....coworkers and listeners alike.....and was kinda' like the "anti-bitch" of rock&roll radio.

Jools Brandt !! That's who I was trying to recall. As I recall Rude and his sport's dude (was it Hullinger or Dan Patrick - I hate getting old) really dissed Jools personally and professionally after her abrubt departure.

Thanks !!
