Chronicle writes about the Mexicanz firing

Don't work for CC and why would I bash this? They went with facts...not worthless music head opinions. Lomax is one of those dweebs that hates "corporate radio" and sits around complaining... while he writes on either his Mac or PC with corporate software from companies that makes corporate radio look like amateurs, sipping his Starbucks corporate latte. His ramblings push his agenda... at least the Chron is a legit paper... going with news.... not opinions. I've yet to read anything from him that doesn't seem to come from the "I'm never going to be happy unless I'm complaining" mode. I'm sure that makes him a hero at his coffee house gatherings.

Point taken, yeah, but what Lomax wrote in the Houston Press recently could still be true. "Music heads" have a place in radio. Fee-Fo Hi, I guess you've forgotten that some people on this board think you're that Ken Charles guy at Clear Channel. (Or is the Clear Answer?)

The music heads should go to public radio. That's one of the few places where a station can, and is expected to cater to smaller groups of people, and can change from shift to shift depending on who is on the air. I am convinced however, that if all of the music heads got exactly what they want in a station they would just find something else about the station to complain about. I've taken calls that start with "Man, I can't believe you guys are playing this... finally!" to a few weeks later "Man, you guys ruined that band for me,,, they used to be cool, but now they're radio sell outs" from the same group of people. I've heard these calls for years in different markets. Music heads are a fickle, picky, whiny, loud little minority of people that can never truly be pleased. If they want to hear a,b,c, and d... and you gave it to them, they'd start complaining because they don't hear d,e, and f. They're only happy when they have something to complain about... Lomax included.

Good article. Too bad it didn't start with "A raging fire"!
