CHRS November 5 Vintage Radio Event

The California Historical Radio Society (http://www.CaliforniaHistoricalRadio.com) will be holding its November Vintage Radio Event and swap meet this Saturday (November 5) at the old KRE studio building in Berkeley. The event starts at 8 a.m.

CHRS president Steve Kushman notes that "CHRS has cleaned out the closet and you get to take it away (for a small donation). We have a room full of equipment left over from the flea market and auction last July. The room is packed, so we will need volunteers at 7:30 a.m. to help us move the stuff out so people can access it. Take what you want and drop a donation into our 'radio.' Please try to save this gear from the landfill."

If you haven't seen how CHRS has refurbished the old KRE building, stop by for a look. Steve gave me a private tour a few weeks ago, and you will be knocked out by the work that the group has been doing to restore the facility, inside and out.

They have some incredible old radios and broadcasting equipment on display ... and one wall inside the main production studio just may become the long-awaited location for those Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame plaques (I hope).
