CHSV 106.7 in Hudson-Saint Lazare is on the air testing

Well, isn't that too close to 106.7 WIZN Vergennes VT, in the Burlington market? And there's a 106.5 in nearby St.-Hyacinthe. At one time, Montreal and Burlington-Plattsburgh stations didn't step on each other. Now both markets have numerous stations on or adjacent to each others frequencies.

When CHSV says Soft AC, they really mean it. The website shows photos of Tony Bennett and Barbra Streisand, in addition to Celine Dion, Michael Buble, Rod Stewart, Whitney Houston, etc. Montreal has really been without any sort of English language AC station, soft to mid-tempo, since 92.5 CFQR became Rhythmic AC CKBE. I can remember when CFQR, CITE and CFGL were all Easy Listening, and later made the transition to Soft AC. CFQR even returned for a short time to Easy Listening, then back to Soft AC, in the 1980s.

I hope CHSV finds an audience that isn't too old for advertisers.

It's a suburban station that won't hit the island at all. The format has worked for them elsewhere and it should work in Hudson-Saint Lazare.

last night I heard them playing commercials already...i wonder when the offical launch day is ? Anyone think it might be January 1, 2015
