Interesting comments, since I listen to Sirius all the time I didn't even know they were off the air. I somehow doubt that chuck and kelly are going to move to Regent, but if they do, it would give them a greater concentration in Downtown albany. I work full time in downtown Albany, and part time still in terrestrial radio, eventhough I don't listen to my own station(s) since I got sirius, as at least 30% of the people down here do. But I will tell you that the only station that you can get on small "desk size" radios in Downtown Albany is 103.9, and am 1300 and 590. Most people are in their mid 30's-50+ and don't want to hear a morning talk show "free beer and hot wings" or AM. Obviously it would make sense to get another AC station down here...compete with "B95" and "The River" somewhat hard to get; The Buzz 104.5 and Star 101.3 (forget it, unless you are in the corning tower on the 15th floor or higher), and have the dominance in the Downtown Albany market and surrounding areas. People would be more likely to tune into a station they hear at work all day long, enjoy, and will hopefully drive home with, even with them travelling 25 miles, which is the average travel time to work. 25 miles in all directions would still be well within the preferred contour of 105.7.Yeah, yeah, yeah, we all know that people in cars are station flippers, but if you get some talent and programming, it can be done. It will be interesting to see what happens.
