Chuck Booms back to FSR

According to BenMaller.com............

Chuck Booms, of "Kiley & Booms" fame, is returning to his roots at Fox Sports Radio. Booms will soon host his own weekend show on the popular sports network.

Could this be the replacement for Ferrall?

Word is that Booms does the Sunday night show at 11 pm Central. Booms without Kiley could be a tough listen. I got a kick out of a review of a recent Kiley and Booms show on WIP, something along the lines of 'in one show they managed to tear down every Philly sports icon'.

email sent my way informs me that Booms' show will be at 11 pm Eastern Sundays...not to worry about the Thompson Bros...they're moving to 8-11 Eastern Sundays...before Booms.

Booms was fantastic, along with Kiley..the show was one of the most entertaining talk shows I ever heard. Fox made a TERRIBLE mistake when they messed with something that was successful. I haven't listened to Fox Sports Radio much since they left, especially in the afternoon. At one point, FSR, had some of the best sports talk entertainers in their line-up and they made some questionable moves. Letting Tony Bruno go, along with the move to let take Kiley and Booms off the air were definitely mistakes.

Booms voice annoys me. FSR is fun to follow just what move will they make next?

Even though Chucky doesn't have the most "soothing" voice in radio, I like him. It took awhile for me to get used to him. He comes up with innovative ideas and topics unlike other sports radio hosts who just read headlines and scores. In fact, I wish FSR would put him on even more than just late-night weekend shifts.

my power was out here in the STL for a week (thanks Ameren run another commercial) no sirius, I was for forced to listen to am/fm at night. Caught Booms on 590 da Fan.

God he is awful. Brutal even. Horrible voice, angry little pissant attitude. Ack.

Last Sunday night Booms was teamed with John Fricke. Don't know if this was a permanent pairing, but it was much better than previous shows.

Chuck said his uncle was in grave condition in the hospital, so he was feeling down. That's why he wanted some on-air "support" from Fricke. The pairing sounded alright, but personally I like Booms going solo.

He sounds a little bitter, I listen to a little bit but can't handle much of him. He think he is ever wrong?

Chuck is done once again. It has nothing to do with his talent, but he can't work for any high profile station or network. He does not know how to listen to authority or take any direction. It is sad to watch him implode again. He continues to prove that he has no clue on how to hold down a job. He is not a radio host because he does not have a job!

Chuck is still on the FSR schedule, which was last updated in April:

Does anyone know for sure if he's gone? Or is this just "piling on"?

And they still have Bryan Cox listed alongside Chris Myers on the Drive. Bryan Cox hasn't been on the radio since at least the beginning of the year. They also have Bruce Jacobs with a midnight-3am EST Sunday morning slot. The Saturday 8p-midnight EST time slot is correct. So, just because Booms is listed doesn't mean he's still there.

realdeal, tell us what you know about Booms' latest mis-steps. Thanks.
