Chuck Boozer was big on WQXI years ago. He popped back up on Cool 105.7 back in 2003. He was voice-tracking from another area. Back then, he was on many Cheap Channel stations! Then, he vanished? Where is he now?

Chuck is in Charlotte--he's out of the biz for the most part, but still does some TV ad work I believe. He's working for one of the Hendrick auto dealerships in Charlotte and is doing well with that. I talk to him occasionally to keep up with him. Great guy, really funny.

Thanks, for the info Craig. I guess that Chuck had enough of Cheap Channel! Craig, are you still in radio in Atlanta? Was the Oldies format at Fox 97 one of your favs? What was the name of your Noon Oldies Request show? Didn`t you change it from the Oldies Diner? I remember you giving work places lunch in the Fox 97 studio! Would you ever consider going with WYAY-FM True Oldies 106.7? When did you leave Cox Radio and B 98.5? Were you good friends with Randy and Spiff?

Not to hijack the thread, but Craig, you have fond memories of your late '79/early '80 gig in the Twin Cities, don't you?

Lots of questions--lemme see if I can answer in a paragraph or so....I still am in radio but work off-air for Cox in their interactive division here in Atlanta. I had lots of fun working at Fox 97 mostly because the format lent itself to a strong, non-liner based personality presentation, which made it challenging and interesting, and also because of the people there, including JJ Jackson and Randy & Spiff, all of whom are friends; we got along great and I thoroughly enjoyed working with them. The noon request show--I don't think we changed the name but I may be wrong...getting older, harder to remember! I stopped doing B98.5FM in 2003 and the national Outback Steakhouse ads in 2006. My "behind the mike" career had run its course and I wanted to spend more time with my son, who's now nearly 12 years old. And to answer pbf1's post beneath yours, absolutely, I had a blast in the Twin Cities doing mornings on a rock station and a weekend shift on a disco station.....disco radio, for real, hard to believe now--jeez! ;D

The Noon afternoon show on Fox 97 was the Oldies Diner when Big John had it. When Craig came along, I think that it was changed to something else for awhile and then back to the Oldies Diner. I will have to go back in some of my Fox 97 tapes and listen. I think that he may have been called "Noontime Workday Request Party" or something like that when Craig took it over in 1998. It was a good show and every Friday, he brought in an office staff (that had won a contest) and they ate lunch with him on the air and helped D.J. the show... Craig, do you have any funny memories of this?

Chuck popped up on the radio again in Charlotte a couple of weeks ago doing a vacation fill in for Ken Conrad on Oldies 106.1. He sounded good, very relaxed and it sounded like he was having fun.

Good to hear that Chuck is back on Oldies Radio! Also, great to hear that the Queen City has a new Oldies station! Cheap Channel had killed Magic 96.1 back in 2005. The Oldies format is really coming back BIG all over!
