I heard on WBT this morning that Chuck Boozer is leaving a Rick Hendrick auto dealership where he's worked for the past several years to get back into radio. He'll be doing a morning show in Myrtle Beach.

Not a great time to get back INTO the biz, Chuck. I hope this is a decision that you won't regret in the future.

It's amazing to me the number of guys who just can't get being on the air out of their system - even after being out of the business for years.

It's a good time to be on the outside looking in.
 
I'll never have being on the air "out of my system". I work from my studio at home now, but do a syndicated oldies show (Saving the 70s http://www.savingthe70s.com ) just because I can't not be on the air. Radio's all I've ever done, and probably ever will. I'm not rich. I'm not famous. But I am happy, and damn lucky!
 
what matters is your happiness. if you enjoy what you do....do it. mike enjoys the lifestyle so mike has solved the riddle.congrats !!
 
Mad props to anybody who can solve that riddle without hurting anybody else.
More power to Boozer, and Walker, and whoever else can pull it off.

It's very easy to be on the outside looking in, given all the cuts that have been made. Oh and thanks to the computer that makes the longer VT shifts possible :(

I woke up with him every morning for a while in the 80s. I was in Myrtle Beach and made sure to listen (that meant getting through Aerosmith and Nickelback first). It didn't sound like him. He talked about how his wife went back home or something, leaving him alone in his new place. I hope that doesn't mean trouble for his marriage. Surely she just didn't like moving and it'll take a while to adjust.

Funny, when I listen to the music I like I want as little talk as possible. For this guy, I put up with the music to get to HIM and I didn't care how much of HIM I heard. Once I returned to my music, I got mad when they had some health report. But the scan button is always fun.
