Chuck Finney on the beach

Former WGRR P.D. Chuck Finney is out after 7 years at KLTY in Dallas. He had also been Salem's national P.D. for Christian A/C. He took KLTY to the top of the ratings heap in Cowboy town. Did a marvelous job at WGRR while in Cincy, a great programming mind and a stand-up guy to work for and with. Somebody is going to get a truly great employee in the near future.

Great guy to call my boss. He actually gave me money out of his own wallet one time during a paycheck problem. I'll never forget that. I wouldn't say nothing bad about him anyway because Puff is a nice dragon.

Add me to the list of Chuck Finney fans. He can be brash, tough and blunt, but is always honest, insightful and fair. A very good programming mind and a better man.

A gazillion accolades couldn't completely do the man justice - Incredible programmer: Incredible Human. Having gotten the ax from 'EBN as a result of less than desirable behavior on and off the air, I found it nearly impossible to get the attention of anyone in this market. I, fortunately, had the opportunity to meet Chuck. He actually sought me out. I bared my discretions, shook his hand and locked in a position during his tenure as Op's Mgr. of the former Infinity cluster. I'm eternally grateful for his understanding and guidance. In response to the post suggesting he be considered for a local market manager position, I'd have to say that Chuck would easily eclipse anyone holding the title in this, as well as other markets. Here's a thought: Remove that slug Jim "Nancy" Bryant and bring in a true professional - Chuck Finney.
