Chuck FM Mineral Wells sold

The station doesn't cover Weatherford properly but the translator (which is licensed to Mineral Wells where the station is) covers Weatherford. I'd swap the cities on these licenses LOL. They currently play a Jack FM style format. Not sure if they will keep the same format though.

That set up reminds me of KYOY/K296FZ in Cheyenne. 92.3 KYOY is a 12kw stick out in Hillsdale, a good 20 miles from Cheyenne, that is in somedays, but not others. Hence, they have the translator at 107.1, which does serve Cheyenne clearly. I've always found this arrangement odd because 92.3 is an open frequency that wouldn't interfere with anything, including adjacent KJMN and KKSE. However, the 107.1 translator is the same channel as KFCO, which interferes with the translator rather often. I'd be good with them dropping one of the frequencies and going with a full 50-100kw from the KWYC tower. Two problems solved at once, LOL.
The thing with your KMQX is that a move-in is blocked by 88.7 Fort Worth and 88.3 Keene, whereas KYOY is blocked by no one.

KYOY was originally licensed to Kimball, NE and moved to Hillsdale in two hops.

KYOY is not far from the KWYC tower, i think about a mile.. I've been to the KWYC site several times.

KYOY cant upgrade or it would. The owner, Vic Michaels is a very shrewd technical engineer and would upgrade it further if he could

That would explain the current position, although it sucks at covering Kimball as well now. Vic Michael owns the KYOY tower? I thought it was that Proshop Radio Broadcasting that owns KRAE. Definitely agreed that he actively updates his facilities or rushes to trade them for new ones, although I don't get why the KYOY tower couldn't be fixed to bring it into alignment.

Larry Proetti owns KRAE and KYOY.. vic used to own KYOy. Theres no requirement for 92.3 to cover Kimball now
