Chuck Kelly RIP

Sad to report the passing of Texas radio legend Chuck Kelly, 80, at his home in Belton. Chuck worked at KTSA San Antonio and was the long-time program director of KTON in Belton. He was also news director of KOOV Copperas Cove/Killeen and general manage of KCYL in Lampasas. A great voice, and good friend.

I'm sorry to hear that. Chuck was also here in Houston on 1070 KENR when it came on the air. In October 1974, he offered me a job at KTON. I had a great conversation with him; he was really nice. I wound up going to KIKN in Corpus, instead. Chuck was well liked as well as a great pro.
