Chuck Mangione, 84

He died in his sleep on July 22, although it's just being announced now. His biggest hit was Feels So Good in 1977. RIP, Chuck.

The smooth jazz format really owes a lot to Chuck.

He was signed to A&M records by another great player: Herb Alpert

This one hurts...smooth jazz wouldn't have its roots without Chuck Mangione (and the late David Sanborn, and of course George Benson who is still alive and well, still doing concerts). I used to hear "Feels So Good" and "Give It All You Got" all the time on KWJZ 98.9 in Seattle when I was little.
RIP and play that flugelhorn loud and proud with the angels in Heaven

I don't know the name of the song but in a mall a record store was playing one of his songs on this new medium called a CD.

I remembered when CDs first were introduced and found a song of his that was recorded at the time.

This is the one I heard in that mall coming from a record store, I think.
