Chuck McDonald back in ET at KYTX?

I have just seen a little ID featuring Chuck McDonald, formerly of KLTV and KETK, now of KYTX CBS 19....anyone know more on this?

Interesting and certainly no surprise. He and Phil Hurley were close and several people have been wondering if McDonald might show up on CBS 19 fairly soon now. Looks as if the speculation is panning out. Chuck would do well for 19.

With this, on top of the recent arrivals of Judy Jordan and Scott Fossey....I now declare KYTX to be a major player in the news game.

I'm guessing that Phil Hurley is now about to try to topple 56 and 7 from the top newscast spot.

They're not there yet. They've got a lot of name recognition, and they're really trying hard, I'll give them that. I think they may have gone overboard with it, though.

I said when they came in they'd overtake 56 within 2-3 years, and I still think so. 19 is really pushing hard, and 56 is not. It'll be a long long while before they can take 7's base of power, though. They're too far ahead and too solid, for reasons that go way beyond just their approach to news and programming.
