Chuck Roberts leaves HLN

I hope he's not leaving for health reasons. Any idea where he is going?
Headline news has become a joke, an embarrassment in the last few years. I hope he is moving to someplace with journalistic professionalism.

Is that what HLN stands for? Pardon my ignorance, but I yanked out the cable 6 years ago and refuse to pay ransom for SATV. I was at a hospital, visiting a relative and watched about an hour of the AM news program on a network id'd as HLN. It never occured to me that that modern, teen mentality, PC censored slop was actually Headline News. What a joke, I thought I was watching an AM news program on some dippy, celebrity oriented entertainment cable channel targeting housewives. It only confirmed my opinion that cable is definelty not worth paying for or stealing.
Yuck!

Indeed, HLN has veered away from the half-hour news format and more toward "news and views."

I used to like him a lot but even long before the format change, he seemed to have lost any interest in what he was doing.

Anyway, since he was one of the original anchors, now that he's gone, who is the longest serving anchor there?

I wonder if he'll move to a broadcast station... or one of the broadcast networks.

The CBS Evening News with Chuck Roberts, anyone?

He's a pretty solid anchor. Like many, he will most likely end up in a medium or smaller market as the primary anchor. Like it or not, many cable pros move into these type of positions. More stability, and being a big fish in a small pond is more appealing today than ever.

You are 100% on the money with that statement. Headline News has become an oxymoron. That network is now more of an second cousin to TMZ.

As for Chuck Roberts leaving, it doesn't surprise me. It's tough for real journalists to be turned into rumor mongers.
