A mostly bad book for many stations. It seems there are very few winners in town. The big question is who will be switching to classic country? An owner group as been quietly checking with clients to see if this has any appeal to them, this book and next could set off a string of format flips as very desperate sales guys and GM's try to tread water.

Has newcomer B92 had any effect on 95SX? Also, how is Star 99.7 doing against Magic 101.7?

B actually did OK I'm sure everyone at APEX is high fiving on that one. They were 15th 12 plus to SX's 8th. Overall it would appear that SX is holding it's own. Star is 4th 12 plus Magic's 3rd. Star may be in for a very rough ride and I'm sure they are not going to make sales projections for 2006.

I'm sure STAR 99.7 will bounce back because they're usually on top of MAGIC 101.7 FM. STAR now has syndicated Steve Harvey Morning Show so I don't know if that'll help them down the road. The 95SX vs B92 battle is taking off now, but from listening to B92 online they seem very Rhythmic leaning. As usual Z93 JAMZ continues the winning as the #1 station. Who has the guts to go after them in 2006?

OK I know this is an OLD Topic. Now it seems like B92 has lost it's rhythmic lean since Kobe Left. If anything now it seems like its has a slight Lean to HOT AC , anyone else notice?

I have also noticed in the last few weeks that B92 isn't playing much Urban music as it use to. I've heard in the last few weeks only one new Urban song and they started playing it about 5 days ago, but this song hit radio almost 2 months ago (maybe longer). Much of the newer stuff i'm hearing is Pop and Rock. The Friday afternoon mix at 5PM isn't as hype as it use to be. They should do something on Saturday nights to compete against SXs open house party.

Who's in charge over there now?

How is that new morning show (Kid Kraddick) doing?

Does anyone know wassup at WPAL 100.9 FM? I've noticed they haven't been showing up in the ratings anymore. Who's is running things over there? Will anyone save the heritage before things go COMPLETELY dark or has it already?

Good question about WPAL. I can only receive them when I am driving in rural areas (never could really pick them up in the metro area). Last time I tuned in they was still playing Neo-Soul. I think their under Caswell Communications. (In my opinion, things went dark there when they switched from the all R&B format.)

I rember listening to WPAL back in 2000 as 100.9 the bomb. they had russ parr on mornings, and a pretty solid hip-hop/r&b format. charleston radio was fun back then when 94.3 the beat was also on the roster.

When WPAL-FM was "100.9 THE BOMB" that was the best they'd ever sound. I have some recorded music and drops from those days. They were positioning themselves as "The People's Station." Nowdays, Charleston is stuck once again with Z93 JAMZ being the only Hip-Hop and R&B choice.
