CHUM/CTVglobemedia go with 93.5 The Flow!

My question with this sale concerns the formatics of both "Flow" and "CHUM-FM." Both are CHR stations, though "Flow" leans more urban than "CHUM." Still, I have to speculate that one of them will change, seeing that they play similar music, and target the same demos. My guess is that 93.5 will be doing the format flip dance. So then the question is: What will it be changed to? Soft rock? Classic rock? Real oldies? (na, that won't happen), Country? Caribean? Polka? Pure dance? Canada's first GenX?... Anything's posible.

Personally, if I were they, I'd take all the gold out of 104.5's rotation, and create a new "GenX" station at 93.5. Then, I'd lean "CHUM-FM" 104.5 in a very current CHR direction.

Any thoughts?

There's too much top 40 in the Toronto market right now.
CHUM FM was intended to be an Adult top 40 or AC station. That, minus the urban is what they'll most likely do.

Here's a guess for what flow will switch to: (but strictly a guess)

That's a very interesting guess. Hmmm. I think if you are correct, it would make for Canada's first "Movin'" station. Here in the Syracuse market, we had a "Movin'" station, and it wasn't all that bad. Assuming your guess is true, I think what they might do under the new "Movin'" identity is to lean the station in an urban/rhythmic AC direction. It would deffinitly make for a different listen, for sure.
