Chumby Makes Any HD Radio Look Chumpy.

You walk into your big box electronics store. As you stroll down the aisles in search of an HD radio you've been told over and over is the next big thing, you actually find one of them. What's this thing sitting next to it? A Chumby? What's that? The answer is at the link:

http://www.chumby.com/

How much does this Chumby cost and where else can I buy one?

Which radio do you think is more likely to be purchased, and why?

Dang that thing is nice! I want one! Only problem is - it needs an HD radio tuner. Wait - they can't fit a working HD antenna into a package that size. Never mind.

They could do without the stupid horoscope. Johannes Kepler destroyed the intellectual foundations of astrology 400 years ago. He was the last scientific astrologer and the first scientific astronomer. I wonder if HD radio will be remembered in 400 years with the same zealousy as the pseudo-science of astrology?

I agree. Lose the stupid hororscopes.

Wait a sec...

I went to look up HD radio's horoscope, but could only find one from a couple of years ago. It reads:

"The HD Radio Alliance has big plans for you. You will be famous and very popular. People will line up in stores to buy you. You will immediately breathe new life into the AM dial, particularly after the FCC lets you stay on after dark. Financial recommendations: (1) Because home prices can only rise, buy lots of real estate using adjustable rate or interest-only loans. (2) Put your entire life savings into the common stock of Citadel Broadcasting (CDL). Like you, HD radio, it's a sure winner!"

Jeez, you just completely ruined my faith in astrology, almost like when the school bus kids laughed at me because I still believed in Santa Claus.

What? No Knobs?

As an internet freeloader ( I never pay for access) would this thing work on the unlocked university wifi?

I couldn't see me playing with a tiny screen that looks like an upholstered pet rock. I'm old, I get it.

I'd rather have full-service radio back and use a tuing knob, not paw thorough multiple screens.

Whaddaya mean, there is no Santa Claus? (and in the words of Stan Freeburg) "I don't believe in Santa Claus, or Columbus, or Cleveland, or Cincinnati - I, I still ain't made-up my mind up about Toledo" "There really is an Easter Bunny, isn't there Joe?"
