Chunky

I'm split when it comes to Chunky. Part of me enjoys the sophomoric humor of Chunky Radio. But I know that this DJ is the worst I have ever heard on any radio station. Yet I still listen to hear one of the same 10 songs they play over and over, sped up 3%.

Well he is atleast my favorite Now FM DJ ;) More songs definitely needed

Opie & Anthony has replayed parts of his show. Some of the worst radio I've heard.

O&A wanted to make fun of the people who replaced them and at the time I guess Chunky was the only on air personality on Now fm.

Big Boy or ehh....Chunky is awsome. He is a perfect fit for a CHR station. His show is far from ordinary, and its really entertaining to listen to. Has anyone else noticed that almost every jock at NOW has worked at WKQI (Channel 9-5-5) in Detroit. I'm guessing its because of Dom Theodore, who was PD of WKQI up until this past December.

a perfect fit for a CHR station? yea, maybe if it was a really small market serving a scarce population... entertaining to listen to? yea, he's about as entertaining as listening to my bowels after a night of eating taco bell.

Maybe in Detroit. His sound doesn't stand out in a market like New York. The music mix seems like it would be a big hit in Des Moines and countless other cities, not New York.
Some of the people defending Now FM or Chunky have appearantly never been to NYC or don't know its radio history. Having lived there for a couple of years when I was younger, and having just come back from a week in NYC last month I don't see 92.3 Now FM doing well at the present time. Like Barack O'bama said - it's time for a change.
If anything, this dispels the myth that longtime CHR Z-100 is vulnerable. Z-100 is still one of the best run CHRs in the world.

You cannot run a CHR/Pop station in New York that only caters to blue collar young women from certain parts of Jersey and Brooklyn.

If NOW would go dance leaning without the crap music, they would do just fine and better than Z 100. As for air staff....I have to admit....They really stink.

Speak about air staff, one jock sounds like the red-headed stepchild, and that's Lil' Cee. I don't know how long he's been there but I heard him on air this past weekend. As for Lisa Paige, and Tictak, surely a difference in their performance when they were jocking in Philly. This station would be best in Binghamton, NY, CHR station Wild 104 only is a CHR at night and during he day sounds like a Hot AC station.

Must be something up in management telling the DJs how to act on the air. Lil Cee was different on KTU and Pulse, Lisa Paige didn't act like a stupid blonde on Q102, TicTak had a lot more listener interaction and the Q102 Freak Show did a stunt live on the air about once a week. I stopped listening to NOW and Chunky ever since that lovely day on June 12th.

Nick you're half right...Tik TAk was sooooo much better/funnier on Q102...wow what a difference. However Lisa Paige sounded like a ditzy blonde on Q102 the whole time she was there...sometimes to the point of sounding like a "valley GIRL".......She was very likable though!!!!

Mikey and Big Bob are doing the same stuff they used to do on Q102 on 96.1 Kiss in Pittsburgh.

Mikey and Bob are indeed funny as always. As for me Tictak I am hosting the afternoon show on NOW and we have a very very limited time we can talk each hour and we never stop the music so my approach is what management dictates. In philly there was really no restrictions, but to get ratings ,which we did. The Freakshow really had fun and made magic happen at Q102. Here at Now essentially.....don't stop the music......talk less than 20 secs into stopset dont talk over the end of a record and play the hits is the game plan. Nice steady cume increases and we will see where it goes. I have to run as I have to plan for my 3 breaks a hour. (hahhaha)

Management dictates? CBS management shouldn't dictate a donut shop. Too bad there ain't no jobs to be had nowhere Tic, otherwise you could grow a pair, tell management what to do, and go make some magic somewhere else. Maybe if you ask real nice CBS will let you make some magic here too. NYC sure could use your magic Tic! Don't be a magic miser!!! Share it!! Share your magic!!!

Taking a look at those nice steady cume increases, you'll be whooping Z's ass by the year 2109.

How come you left Q102?
Your show on Q102 was the only reason I listened.
I'm sure the CBS management wouldn't mind you tattooing the 92.3 NOW logo on people's backs if they want to win concert tickets. That's more fun than saying "92.3 Now FM" 15 times in 9.23 seconds.
