Multistate Deal — Church Planters of America has filed to donate eight full-power stations and an FM translator to Old Paths Radio. They include WJHW, Mayodan, NC (89.5); KWOP, Fort Dodge, IA (88.7); KGIW, Pilot Mountain, NC (89.7); WGHW, Lockwoods Folly Town, NC (88.1); KTUT, Frankfort, SD (89.9); WOPR, Madison, NC (88.1); WWFJ, East Fayetteville, NC (88.1); and a construction permit for a new Class A licensed to McLeansville, NC at 88.9 FM. However, FCC record show both the CP and the license for WOPR have both been cancelled. The donation also includes the Tabor City, NC-licensed translator W237BO at 95.3 FM.

They said on "The Andy Griffith Show" that if some road or some industry had come to Mayberry, it would be the big town rather than Mount Pilot and the town wouldn't be what it is.

IIRC, wasn't Mt. Pilot the fictional county seat where the courthouse was located. I remember an episode where Sheriff Taylor had to transport a prisoner there.

Yeah, that's what they said. I believe that was on the one where they were getting a statue/monument up for (was it) Seth Taylor?

Ok, it's been awhile since I watched the show. I do know that Siler City was also mentioned on the show a few times.

Fun fact: Siler City was actress Frances Bavier's (Aunt Bea) real life home town.

I wish every town could be like Mayberry! 😊

Yeah, me too and still a big fan.

I do know that Siler City was also mentioned on the show a few times.

That, it was, home of WNCA, not mentioned therein. When I worked at WCLW, one of our DJs worked there for some time as well, if memory serves. I believe the only time radio station call signs were mentioned on TAGS, was once for WMP (Mount Pilot) and KNC (dunno where that was supposed to be from, obviously a continuity error).

That, it was, too. I saw her in a later movie (maybe a Benjie one, which was I believe her last gig) and she was more her real self in that one, so I've been told.

Alright, I first got acquainted with CPOA, back when they came by 'CLW, where I was working, looking for programs, back twenty-six years ago. I in turn, looked over their proverbial Program Log and hence, developed a friendship with a fellow blind, ministry/radio feller, talked to him just last week, as a matter of fact.
