Cianci goes to Boston

Good job Kenny! Thats right. Buddy is going to need alot of time to get 'normal' after 6
years in prison. From what i've been told, he's a very different person.
I think it's a very good thing for WPRO. Walter.

Buddy is being released to a work release program and will be living in a halfway house to be followed by home confinement. When his work release is done he's free to go anywhere he wants and WPRO is a likey place. The plan was never for Buddy to go straight from prison to WPRO. Nothing has changed with Buddy's possible return to radio.

Don't agree, Buddy's got a cushy new gig, one he'll want to keep.

The hotel gave Buddy a job as a favor from a friend (perhaps his Boston lawyer Richard Egbert?) because he (as with all cons using work release ) must have a job lined up in order to be eligible for work release.
If you heard the spokesguy from the hotel speak it's apparent this is no longterm plush career move for Buddy.
Buddy will be back in Rhode Island and pondering a career in radio by this fall.

By far, The Best Mayor Providence ever had . Just like Bill Clinton , Cianci get no repect, for what Cianci did in Office . If it was not for Cianci , Downtown Providence will still be run down like the old Rocky Point .

Wow, Walter...my counting may be off; but if he went into prison in 2002....and he got a 5 year sentence your 6 years doesn't add up. The Boston job is while he is at the Halfway house and then home confinement and I actually think more and more now that WPRO might not be the landing for him, he might just end up co hosting w/ Finneran at WRKO.

This post seems to be getting away from the discussion of radio & turning political. I'll add my 2 cents. Before
Radio-Info steps in. And moves it.... Sure Cianci was there in the beginning (The Capitol Center Project). As it was called. But when he first left office in early 80's. City Council President. Joe Paolino Jr. Who would become full-term Mayor Of Providence himself. Helped assure that the whole "Rebirth" of Providence was a success.Like I wrote above.
This is not about radio. So I do not want to be political. But we must also give credit to Former Governor's

Garrahy
Diprete
Sundlun

(each of the above played a role in the "Rebirth Of Providence") Along with the Providence City Council.

While Cianci was a great cheerleader for Providence. He had some help along the way....

92, Your post about 5 years vs. 6. Please call channels 10, 6, 12 , the Pro Jo, Dan Yorke, John Depetro,
because they have all been saying 6. Will you PLEASE mature. The snide observations are just that , snide.
There are alot of good people at PRO. You use a nickname with 92 in it. Do you think ANYONE from PRO would be wasting their time with this stupidity?
As for Buddy, Did you ever think he may want to just stay in Boston. Walter.

Walter,,,I have raised that point with others as well, so I'll keep plugging along doing what I've been doing. Snide, that is your interpretation...have it, I particularly don't care about it.

WPRO can have Buddy if they want him...I just happen to think that with the recent goings on up at WRKO, Buddy and Finneran might end up being a dynamic show.
You are the one who is snide re Buddy continually, either place (WRKO and WPRO) would do well having Buddy as his previous work in radio shows he is more than able to handle his own. If he does indeed hook on with WPRO (and I'd give it 70/30 chance still), I believe it would lead to an end of WHJJ as a local talk station, they'd go completely satellite; but again this is one man's opinion. If you don't like my sarcasm at times, just ignore and skip past my posts.
