Cianci's show

I listened for about 15 minutes today. Here's what I see..

It is extremely boring.
The average listener sounded like around 85.
The phone calls were to personal. To the piont I was lost.I dont care about what time Buddy shows up at church or who he visited last week.Keep the calls to the topic so everyone listening knows what you are talking about.
The "I love you buddy I dare they put you in jail" calls are too much."

Bottom line.....

After the hype,WPRO pulls off shoe and shoots itself in the foot.

i dont think so....... the hype and the phone calls of the first few days are to be totally expected this will turn out to be an extremly good move for wpro

Right now, I'm listening to Rush's sub. How much of Buddy and Ron can anyone take?
I think Rush may actually beat him from 12 to 2 , then Barbara Haynes gets fired THANK GOD.

I find it hilarious that Citadel can justify throwing a fancy lunch for Cianci. Yet they are so reluctant
to reward other employees that work above and beyond.

be assured i'm not a shill like most of the calls he's getting right now but i'm just realizing how much i enjoyed his dry NE sense of humour. i thought the QE2 visit story was hilarious. don't know if i'd vote for him if i lived in prov again, but i'm listening. the calls are bad though

I figured all the "We Love You Buddy"s would be out in force now that thier conquering hero has returned......well......the ones that are still alive, anyway. ;)

I happen to think Buddy Cianci has an engaging personality, and a sense of humor and wit that may be better served if his show were purely an "interview-driven" show (ZERO callers)......much in the style of a "Joey Reynolds" type program.

Another idea for taking the Cianci show the "ZERO callers route" might be to have him surrounded by a regular group of panelists in a kind of "round table" type format, like what Sally Jesse Raphael is doing in her comeback attempt.

And Ron St.Pierre should NOT have ANY part in that show.

unfortunatley st pierre will probably continue to be part of the show as buddy's schedule seems to be sporadic. they'll need the consistency of st pierre as host. but will they be able to justify the 2 salaries? thats been my question since i heard they'd both be in the time slot.

Everybody back away from the ledge with the AK-47, will ya!?!

IT IS DAY 2.....the "Buddy I Love You Calls" will continue for about another week and will lessen with each passing day. Buddy had the I love you calls when he was on WHJJ, so he will continue to have them.

Everybody that has posted they can't stomach it have all thrown disparaging comments up to this point about Buddy in other threads, so their bias is known.

Ron will continue to be there as long as he wants to be, the multitude of ads (sounded more like a morning show yesterday and today with all of the sold out stop sets they had) hinders the flow of a show right now, as that eases off to regular stopsets and commercial loads, there will be a better flow.

Just as Jim Rome, The Big Show on WEEI, Rush (Ugh, did I just say that), Imus, Stern and most radio hosts say; you have to give it at least 4-6 weeks before you get the feel for the show.

As far as the lunch...HELLO!?! Can you say sales department's wet dream!?! The ability to have a high profile event like that where you can get your "Top Clients" in on something as big (all 3 TV stations AND the Pro-Jo there) and make them feel a part of it...why wouldn't you throw a lunch?

very well said and i agree........ im ive listened the past 2 days and will still say it was a very smart move for wpro.... props to the person who brought him in... weather it was ron.... the pd or the gm. smart move
