Cichon leaving WBEN

I'm sure Everyone knows Steve Cichon, is stepping down at the end of the month in his role as News Director at WBEN. He says he wants to pursue more stories of Buffalo folks (though I am sure the (mis)management at Entercom Buffalo might have a role to play in this decision). Thoughts?

I don't personally know Steve but I read his comments on Facebook (posted by someone else) and wish him the best of luck at his new job.

If I read his comments correctly, Steve spent 20 years at WBEN. 20 years at one station is becoming such a rare event these days.

Someone else posted his message on Facebook? Huh? What exactly does that mean? If it is his own personal Facebook page, who posted it if it wasn't him? Please clarify.

To clear things up, Steve didn't spend 20 consecutive years at WBEN. He left for awhile and worked at WIVB-TV and also worked at WNSA-FM. Maybe 20 total years in the business, but not consecutively at WBEN.

If I am wrong on that, please Steve or someone clarify. His work will be missed but yes, more changes on the way at 930 AM. I am curious to see if they will fill his role as "news director" or leave it vacant. Very good anchor and reporter, but I applaud him for getting out and trying something new. His wife and him are active in the community, must have a good vibe that his new business venture can help bring in some money and allow him to flex his creative muscles.
