Cincinnati morning shows

I'm curious what you all think about the state of morning radio in the Queen City.

Shows that should go? Shows that are awesome? Shows that need a change?

Chris and Janeen on GRR are great! After all these years, still married and doing great radio.

Rewind 94.9 needs a morning show. Not just a person, but an actual show.

B105's morning show needs a girl. Badly. It's too much testosterone for a female based station. They should take Dana Ryan from overnights and put her on with Chris Carr. I heard that she did mornings before she came here.

What do y'all think?

Chris and Janeen are the biggest reason I bought an Ipod. Their silly bantering, the narrow playlist, and Janeen's giggling turned me off years ago. For the listeners who like to hear about the private life of radio personalities out there like these two, than morning radio is perfect for them. By the time I turned them off permanently, I was sick to death of hearing about the family, and their day to day activities. I know, they have great ratings so I'm just pleased as punch for them. But for the 6 of us that still want radio DJ's to play the tunes and stop being impressed with themselves like these 2 are, morning radio ain't the vehicle anymore.

Hmmm 101, I agree with you on basically all points. B105 needs that gender balance for its mornings.

I like Q102's Jeff and Jenn, which shouldn't be a surprise as I've commented on them.

1530 needs a local morning show to go with their PM drive show. For me, Fox Sports Radio in AM drive doesn't cut it for this station. And I'm a male sports fan.

KISS 107... I could take or leave Tim and MMCMG.

94.1 is like the other end of the 94 MHz spectrum. Needs a morning show of some sort, preferrably local.

Far as Bob and Tom on 92.5... Another I could take or leave.

And far as Warm 98... I can actually tolerate Dean and Randi. I used to listen to them with my mom in the car on the way to NKU when I was a student there a few years ago.

Excuse me for being the curmudgeon here, but, other than the fact that the station no longer plays most of the 50's music you love FRR, why are they so successful? The ratings are great.

You, of course, are entitled to your opinion, but judging from the numbers, you're in the minority.

Kevin, you are 100% correct. They do have the ratings. I'm the first to admit that. And yes, I know I'm in the minority here. Story of my life sometimes. Lol

Why doesn't anyone mention The Dawn Patrol or Gamble n Fin? Are they not any good? I have to say all of the morning shows mentioned in this thread don't appeal to me at all.

I was hoping more people would respond to this thread. I'd like to hear as many opinions on as many stations morning shows as possible.

That's what keeps these boards interesting - different opinions!

;D

If the morning shows in Cincinnati weren't so dull you'd probably see more replies on this thread. I think someone really needs to shake things up, but with radio in it's current state, I can't see it happening for awhile.

Woulnt matter what board you posted this topic R-I is about complaining. What are some morning shows from the past that you consider good?

I loved Dick Pike and Leo Underhill on the old WNOP. They were a hoot. They were never paired, but one or the other did the sign on for years.
