How Far WKRC Has Fallen

It is a real shame how far 55 WKRC has fallen. I can recall when the station had such talents as Jerry Thomas, Stan Matlock, Rich King, and later Dave Lee.
Many of you will say its an indication of the fate of AM Radio. This position doesn't hold water when the number one station in the book after book is an AM station.

The truth is the WKRC lineup is boring . IHeart is not investing in local talent beyond Brian Thomas. They don't want the station to compete against the Big One.
Well here are few ideas to fix the problem. First move is to reprogram the morning show with Brian Thomas with much shorter segments and not ry to do a mid day talk show in the morning. I stoped listening because i could drive from home to work and find myself in the middle of a conversation that is still going on when i get to work. Jim Scott has this format and the face pace to match the daypart down.

Then move Scott Sloan over to 55 for afternoon drive . His show will be very much different than what Eddie and Tarcy offer on WLW. Then move Mike McConnell back to his old shift on WLW from 9 am to Noon.

WKRC has become the new second rated sports station WSAI and that is a total waste.
.

You mean WDJO didn't even make the list? Someone had to be listening to them besides me.

It appears they are not subscribed, so any numbers it has will not appear in the "press release" 6+ numbers.

It appears that for the last several years the station has been in the 0.3 range if we average each quarter's books.

Congrats to WGRR for a stellar 8.1! The station just keeps gettin' it done. Also found it interesting that WEBN's HD-2 keeps floating above a 1 share. I don't seem to be seeing a lot of HD-2 signals showing up in the ratings in most places.. Of course a lot of HD-2 signals are filled with weak programming and fringe formats.

102.3 The Beat has yet to show up in the ratings. It's is an HD3 feed on a translator. Meanwhile, The Beat over in Indy just went from worst to first flipping the week before Christmas from AC.

I beg to differ, The Beat has shown up in the rankings. I assume not here because its wasn't a station that was around when the displayed "trender" started?

Gr8oldies, you're probably right since they have translators in Norwood and Middletown. I'm not aware of any HD-2 signal that shows up in the ratings on it's own without a translator. HD-2 = HarD 2 find.
