Ok iBiquity needs to convince people to abandon and fill landfills with perfectly good radios. Compete in the marketplace against ipods, satellite radio, cell phones, wifi, wimax flat screen HD TV's plus more and more gadgets. And now sell like a super star in a down economy.


Circuit City is closing some stores and thinning the heard.
Not good and is a reflection of the recession that no wants to admit too.

When the economy slows down do people spend hundreds or thousands dumping staple items like AM/FM radios in landfills to replace them with newer digital receivers? The early adopters and geeks have made upgrades to HD. I’m afraid it’s unlikely 08 will be a break through year for iBiquity. They can only hope for 2010-2020 to finally sell their one millionth radio. That is if they can last that long..
 
I'm certainly not gonna jump onto something that have been prooven over and over won't work because i'm too far away from the transmitter.
I love new radio stuff, but why bother buying a piece of equipment that bassed on the mijority of people here, doesn't work?
I can hear what the AMX-2000 sounds like. Maybe with the proper antenna, I can hear AM Stereo Oldies from some place. These technoligy's work. IBOC doesn't. Besides as it stands, at the moment it doesn't look like they are gonna make it. Why buy an intire new radio and support a company that may go belly up? Jeff Deck's company even if it went up in smoke tomorrow, the equipment would still work into the future. I would like to get one of the AMX-2000's someday.
On FM the Yamaha T-85 tuner (Modified) works well. FM has been around forever, and I doubt it'll die any time soon. I've had the Yamaha for 7 years now, and I doubt FM wil be dead by the time i'm in my mid 30's.

There aren't any C-Quam stations close enough to me to receive, but the AMX-2000 tuner sounds great on mono stations, or at least the ones that are opened up a little like CHWO 740 Toronto and it even sounds better than most on a lot of the big talk stations. It takes the muffler off the AM stations.
