Citadel corporate presence no longer in Nashville

Ran into a couple of folks from the Hill on my way home and asked with whom Citadel planned to replace regional VP John King. Seems they're not... just dividing up his region, and the Tennessee properties are going to fall under the jurisdiction of two VPs based in South Carolina. Are they downsizing some management to make a way for some ABC brass to find a spot in the Citadel organization, or are they regrouping ahead of sifting out a few stations? And what effect will these new groups have on in-state clusters? Boy, just when I thought the local radio scene was in a rut, first the Gill news, and now this...

Great, just as expected, a company committed to the success of
local radio. They'll be operating those stations out of a closet by
remote control. Great news for competitors --- bad news for
listeners. Who needs 'em anyway.

Think the F will say country boys?

This one I haven't heard. What happened to John King?

Sorry, thought everyone knew that one by now since it occurred a few weeks ago. "King" moved his family back to his Ohio hometown and parted ways with Citadel.

That should make things interesting since a bunch of staffers followed him from Clear Channel, including Dave Kelly and Dean Warfield.

It's a good thing citadel is leaving nashville. They have turned there station in the new orleans cluter down here into nothing but garbage radio

No, no, no. Citadel's still in Nashville. They're just without a corporate presence here now that they no longer have a VP based here.
