Citadel forced to sell WCLZ 98.9

By Ray Routhier Portland Press Herald Staff Writer June 05, 2007 04:27 PM

Portland radio station WCLZ (98.9 FM), known for its unique blend of music and commitment to local artists, will be sold sometime in the next six months, according to a posting on the station's Web site.

WCLZ's parent company, Citadel Broadcasting, is buying the ABC Radio chain, and Federal Communications Commission limits on the number of stations one company can own requires that Citadel sell some stations.
