Citadel Launching Talk On 106.1?

Either Citadel is launching an FM talk format on the soon-to-be-former Sunny 106.1, or John McQueen has us all by the nuts.

The only question is: what kind of talk radio will it be? Left? Right? O&A-like?

Syndicated? Local?

I would say "Can we say the twins?" But I figured the newspaper ad kind of burn some bridges unless it was staged....

I would say Syndicated with a try at local...I figure their would be a few wanting to take their try at FM talk locally ..but can't fault them for trying this format if it does happen here.... Something that has been tried before and had so-so numbers but they killed the Heritage CHR to do it..that's why I think the B's stint went so bad for...

My only question is if they will do like 94.9 during it's hot talk days and roll active rock/aleternative outside the normal times or be like normal talkers and stay 24/7 news/talk?

A possible line-up would be:

Lex & Terry mornings, Don & Mike for PM drive, Phil Hendrie for evenings (homeless since WSMB's flip), Loveline nights, and Tom Leykis thrown in somewhere...I'm sure there are a few I failed to mention...

I agree with stevenNOLA, Lex and Terry could be considered extreme (they are mainly on active and mainstream rockers in the south and one of the features is drunk B Friday)

The only thing that worries me is the guy who dreamed up Diva, John McQueen, looks to be in charge (if we go by the whois info) and would be a wonder what he would come up with type of talker he's gonna dream up if that's the case...

Men's talk and information?

The people who know, ain't talking
