Going back to the original question..virtually ALL of Citadel's small & small-medium and many of their medium markets are on the block. Farid Suleman has said so in comments made to IBS and to financial business reporters. With Citadel's acquisition of ABC, Citadel will concentrate on it's medium-large, large and major market holdings. In the general area, A-Town, NEPA, Binghamton, Syracuse, Buffalo and many others are going to be shopped. The bigger question is what will Citadel sell these properties for? In many cases when Citadel was growing in the late 90's, they vastly over-paid for many of their properties in a race to become a big player. So what will they do? Sell the stations at fire sale prices? Ask for what they paid for them? In one case I know of, they donated an AM station to a non-profit group just to get rid of it. Of course that makes it a tax deduction, would they do that with a number of their AMs? This could be a very interesting time for smaller operators to purchase some stations.
