I agree! I'm also a Citadel Hot AC Format Affiliate. Right now, the format is a mess. They put Kidd Kraddick on in the morning, but if your station overlapped another station taking Kraddick as well, and even if that station was not a full Citadel Hot AC affiliate, you got kicked out and had to run an alternate program that is voiced track by the former morning host. Morning drive being voice tracked? I have a problem with this!
Right now, I mad as hell with them, but I have a contract with them so I'm stuck. They claim that there are several stations that can't air Kraddick. I think that I'm the
ONLY station that can't air Kraddick, so their having to do this alternate show just for my station only.
The music format is terrible right now too. All ballads in the morning, same old songs played over and over. This wasn't happening when Dan Lopez was P.D. He got canned with many other Citadel employees. They are, or already have shut down their "Timeless" Format. Right Now, Chris Miller, Operations Director for all the Citadel Media Formats is Programming Hot AC. He is playing double duty due to lack of staff.
It wouldn't surprise me if Citadel Media shuts down their music formats under this Chapter 11 bankruptcy. This would leave Dial Global the only satellite music provider in the U.S. Dial Global bought out Jones sometime back.
Stay away from Citadel Media's Music Formats until things get straighten out, that's if they do.
