Citadel says Birmingham partly to blame

Here's a story I found today on radio and records about Citadel's 1st Qtr revenues for the year. According to Citadel, 1st Qtr revenue is off, due to stations in Birmingham and Oklahoma City. Is "Y" dragging Citadel down?

Here's the R&R story. It links to the main page and the story will probably eventually be moved around elsewhere, so you might have to search for it once you get there.

I don't think they were referring to Y-94.5 dragging them down so much as they were referring to the changes at WRAX and WJOX. However, Y and the loss of Rick and Bubba can't be helping them.

Birmingham's public Arbitron numbers were released today (look for the link on R-I's front page). Citadel's most listened to station is now JOX @ 100.5. WZRR is falling, Hot 107-7 still isn't a player (compared to its competition), and Y-94.5 has now found itself looking up at New Country 97.3.

I'd say the Citadel-Birmingham folks have cause for concern. :-[

Don't ever expect 107.7 to ever become a player. It is a lost cause.
