WWLS-F and KINB/OKLAHOMA CITY

So does WWLS-F qualify as Wild (being that Wild's call letters are KKWD) or does that mean the Animal loses it's FM simulcast??
 
KKWD is the station that's actually being sold. It was just WWLS-FM when Citadel filed the application. If you actually read the current application, the calls have been corrected. As for what happens with Animal's simulcast, I suspect it stays on 97.9, though Citadel could conceivably change it. When a station is put into a trust, it's not able to simulcast a station in the cluster it just left unless the trust LMA's or takes over the simulcast station. They have to be operated completely separately. I suspect that's part of why Citadel put Wild over there; I'm sure it was a lot easier to just move a format to 104.9 as opposed to bankrolling the trustee's effort to find a new format. However, what they'll do with the WKY/KINB simulcast is anyone's guess.

So are there any guesses as to who wants these two? Are the days numbered now for WILD?!? It's been four years since I've been to OKC but back then that was THE STATION I looked up to!!!
 
Wild went downhill after the move to 104.9. They are more of a CHR-Pop now, in fact Arbatron lists them as that if im not mistaking. And their ratings have taken a nose-dive. Power 103.5 is the station for hip hop and r&b in OKC.

And one sentence: The New Hot 104.9 Old Skool/Today's R&B and your Home for Tom Joyner in the Morning and Michael Baisden in Afternoons.
 
Just thinking about that, either The Tylers or Russell Perry not to mention Renda or CC could end it up with the stations, but anything's possible ::)
