Citadel turns one loose in Tuscaloosa

Citadel is selling WJRD 1150 in Tuscaloosa. Here's the link to the R&R story. It's listed under Transactions For September 13.
Now that the station will no longer be co-owned with WTUG, wonder which direction they'll take now...

A more mainsteam brand of news-talk, I'd guess.

1150 couldn't be moved toward Birmingham, now could it?

I checked WJRD out today. They were back to programming adult standards, using the "Timeless Classics" format they had before the switch to black talk/simulcast with WTUG.

I've notice that, while visiting Marion, this past Saturday. I can sometimes get this powerful station, in Selma, when the conditions are right.

Hope the new owner(s) will have success with this station and attract a big listening audience and many sponsers.

I don't know if it could be moved, but as is it puts a decent signal over the western suburbs. I used to listen to it when the nostalgia format was on, right after the upgrade, all along I-459 from Hoover to Irondale.
