I'm shocked nobody is talking about Citadel. The bloodbath at 106.7 continues with the loss of the morning show's female co-host. And, I understand the PD is gone too. Not counting The X (you can't blame them for Howard leaving), I count at least a dozen on-air changes (either dismissals or quitting) and, as far as I can figure, there are only three people on the stations who were there when the whole 106.7/102.3 shakeups started almost 3 years ago. (one of them being Brad Flick who's been there forever anyway).

Please feel free to check my math, it was a rough count.

Howard going bye bye was just a matter of time. I think the X's morning show is a damn fine show. Mid days sound great.. I don't get much radio listening past mid days.. As for 106.7, Ed is one of the best guys in the business I have ever known. I think he got a crummy deal there, which did not let him use his talent, his is loved by many in the area, and has a lot more to offer than back sell, time and temp. I can't say anything more than that. I've been wondering where the idle chit chat is regarding Citadel. Nobody enjoys trash talk as much as I do.. But it looks to me like the X has something good going on in the morning, Moe sounds great... They should have let Ed Coffey do what he did best, and do the kind of radio that had people tuning into him. They screwed the pooch on that one.
 
Speaking of Brad Flick, I see he partnered with a new guy...again. They sound good and it's definate upgrade in entertainment but will it last or will the new guy go the way of...Stern....Coffey....etc?
 
The word is all the shots concerning Mix are being made by the programming folks in Allentown. The GM is a lame duck. Allentown determined the two latest firings had to happen. The funny thing is..if you look at the latest numbers in Allentown, they have enough to be concerned about in their home market than to be meddling in E-town.
 
I'm really curious as to what the heck goes on over there. What is it about that place that they can't hold on to staff? Isn't it important to have a consistent product? Don't you want people to develop a relationship with the station and the airstaff? (which obviously can't happen when people don't know where to find the music they're looking for and when the talent keep getting moved around). I ran into some of their people downtown on Saturday and, apparently, it's not only air staff, but support staff as well (promotions, office staff, etc).

Is there something funny in the water over there? Is this normal for the radio biz?
 
Dude, I worked with John Fraunfelter for 2 years in Lancaster, PA. He's a [EDIT]. I can vouch for that, my friend. If he's still GM there, that explains it. [EDIT].
