Ok so what's the deal over on 2nd Ave? Just cut another staffer, Temple from the WKDF promotions dept. Lets see that makes it at least 8 people on the beach in the past year and how many in the past two years?
Seems funny so many are gone and not a lot about it on this board. Could it be the ones that bitched a year or so ago are now running the joint? Things that make you go Hummmmm.

It would be news if they DIDN'T fire somebody in any given 6 month period. Sounds like a toxic environment over there.
 
That's a shame. Temple is a very talented lady. I enjoyed working with her during our common days at Clear Channel. I wish her all the best and hope she lands somewhere good really soon.

Yes she is talented BUT does Nashville HAVE "somewhere good" to work?
 
Unfortunately, it's not news when a single person is terminated. We tend to gravitate to the more gory Clear Channel hatchets en masse.
 
This afternoon Darren McFarland was apparently holding up his end of the bargain. McFarland hosted solo his Titans talk hour from 2 to 3. He took a couple of calls from the GM wannabee audience. When those callers became predictable, McFarland broke into answering his own questions. "Do the Titans need wide receivers? Of course they do. Will they test free agency? Probably. Will they rely on the draft? I think so." With such riveting self-dialogue, no wonder Citadel can fire good people.
 
I just wonder when the budget ax will swing on WGFX. Contracts mean nothing to management. Look what they did to Eddie and Justin. Both signed a new one before the new PD came on and a few months later both were out. How much money is tied up on the Zone in mornings and afternoon?
 
I had picked up on an "unconfirming rumor" that Citadel is trying to sell thier Nashville properties, meaning 103 & 104. This I guess my help for the big deal they made to buy ABC Radio.
 
Now that would be fun to watch! Oh and don't forget Titans Radio. All three would be a part of the deal.

2005 post: Dawgs tell us could you not get a job at the Zone? Did you get let go from the Zone? Who done you wrong man? What? You ( and others) have got it bad for them over on 2nd Ave. Why do you keep on with all of your crap? Sure they can do better. Every station can do better but they just keep the money rolling in and the numbers still are strong. Oh I know you didn't do well on the B.U.D Zone show! :) Come on man give it a rest! As my mama always said. "If you can't say something nice then shut the F*&k up" I just love my mama!
 
Having met with reps from the hill in just the past few weeks, I know there's a lot of useless smoke here. But I can tell you something about:

What you're hearing about is a financial analysis that's being conducted, not a speculation for a sale of the local properties. Corporate is in the process of having ALL of their properties evaluated by an outside firm. Their purpose is to determine where their best assets lie and which properties might should be sold. From this outsider's point of view, I'd say the Nashville properties are among their best assets and would most likely be protected from a sale. But of course, being a great asset means you just may attractive to inquiries as well.

Nope not my post but yes my tune has changed. Kind of does that when you are let go you know! The numbers are still strong and the money keeps rolling in is still true, it's just not the same place when I was on board. Not that that is a bad thing!
