[EDIT]
He isn't a programmer at all, he's nothing more than a scheduler of syndicated programs.
Imus, Limbaugh, Hannity, half of the broadcast day, certainly the most important day parts
are programs that Phil Boyce not only has no control over, he has no imput.
The word is INPUT you moron. OK let's talk about FACTS. The only show I have no control over is Limbaugh. Imus, Sliwa, Hannity, Levin, Grant...all report to me. Nice try here pal, but gets your facts straight. You could try to criticize me for allowing some of my local shows to be syndicated, but in doing so I doubled the revenue of the radio station. Last time I checked, making money for my company was a thing to be praised, not ridiculed. And let me make one more point. I did not just ALLOW my shows to be syndicated, I did it myself. Those shows still report to me. And I was not kidding. We really did double the revenue of the radio station. That means we doubled the profit too. Sorry, but explain to me how that is a bad thing?
[EDIT] He forgot that a PD's most important job is creating programs that make money.
He has a ego bigger than all of the personalities on WABC.
Why because I don't allow morons and wannabe's to attack me by name on a public message board?
Anyone remember the days when WABC was proudly a top 3 or 5 rated station?
New York's top talker is now in the bottom ten and like Citadel stock will be
dropping further.
Yes....back in the day.....like last SPRING when we ranked #5 in NYC. Wow, long time ago. The January PPM had WABC ranked #4 in NYC, and I am paying more attention to that now since that is going to be the ratings standard of the future.
Interesting how the blame for returning Imus to the airwaves falls on Citadel brass and
not Boyce. Notice KGO, WLS, KABC either don't carry Imus or in KABC's case carry's
him only in the early morning. Phil Boyce should be blamed for the Imus mistake, he
certainly didn't stand as firm against it as the other Citadel/ABC PD's did.
What Imus mistake? If Citadel makes more money with Imus than Curtis and Kuby then it is a success. We don't know if that will happen yet, but so far we are trending that way. As for the network, we are now on 36 stations across the country, just landing on True Oldies in Washington DC. We have another big station to announce later this week. From a network perspective, this show is already a hit. But let's get at the obvious point here. Should I have crammed Imus down the throats of those stations that already had successful morning shows? Is that what Rook is suggesting we do here? What a moron. We have placed him on Citadel stations where he made sense. That is just good business....which is something Rook knows little or nothing about.
I'm betting Phil is on the short list of "changes" Farid Suleman is about to make
at WABC.
No you're not. You are not betting a thing. You are shooting off your mouth on a message board with no skin in the game.
[EDIT] Those that can do...those that can't got out of the game a long time ago. Now you are just a sad pea-shooter, taking shots at people who are still putting their necks on the line everyday.
