On August 18th, 2011 at 4 PM EST, Astral Media rebranded its nine Rock Detente-branded stations in Quebec under the collective banner of Rouge FM. The Rouge FM programming originates from 107.3 CITE-FM in Montreal; the other eight stations are rebroadcasters.

Fun Facts: The Rouge FM branding originated in France, where it continues to reach high levels of popularity. Rouge FM is also available in other French-speaking parts of the world, such as Switzerland.
The launch of Rouge FM marks the second time that a France-based branding has landed in Montreal. In August 2009, the former Energie 94.3 (CKMF) rebranded as NRJ 94.3 (the letter J is pronounced as G in French).
