CityNews channel 1?

From what I understand so far, the plan Rogers has for their new CityNews Toronto Channel is to launch it on Rogers digital cable 01 in early October.

This means those who do not have a digital box will not get the channel.

As well, what does that mean if you don't have Rogers cable?

Will Bell TV and Shaw Direct carry the station? Or is this a Rogers cable exclusive channel?

When I lived in NYC and had Time-Warner Cable, I only got one cable box as part of the deal, yet I had two TVs. So the TV without a box still got the local all-news channel NY-One on another dial position, maybe it was 99?

So Rogers could put CityNews someplace else for people without a cable box.

Citynews channel moved to cable 15 when SUN TV moved to cable 142.
However, there is no over the air spot for the new CityNews channel.
At least Rogers cable customers with no digital box can now watch the channel,
but is the channel available on Bell TV or Shaw direct?

When you say "over the air", do you mean terrestrially, or do you mean for analogue subscribers? Sun News Network (formerly Sun TV) was seen on CKXT channel 52, cable 15, until its owners, Quebecor, decided that it was not economically feasible to keep the aerial signal running, which was when Quebecor closed down CKXT's signal and walked the license back to Ottawa.

Yes. As far as I know, CityNews channel took the cable 15 spot but NOT "antenna 52". (as average Joe would put it.)
