Civic Media Acquires WRPN and WAUH from Hometown Broadcasting

I had no idea that this was in the works until I tuned into 102.3 The Bug on my way home from a road trip yesterday. A DJ broadcasting live from a local event mentioned that The Bug and The Wave were Civic Media stations. I noticed that they are no longer running Fox News at the top of the hour, instead opting for CBS. Given what the original intention for Civic Media stations was, this comes as no surprise. I also noticed that the midday guy, Johnny Ray, is no longer allowed to play the many very obscure duds that he usually would. The station's sound is much more consistent now, but the playlist is still quite large. It is still far from being the stereotypical Classic Hits station and I really hope it stays that way.
