CIVT CTV BC and KING 5

I know that CIVT is the offical 2010 Winter olympics station for Vancouver, but would you consider KING 5 to be the offical 2010 olympics station since their signal is reachable into Vancouver and its on Vancouver cable?
 
Well wait a second here...King 5? isn't that American?
Apples to Oranges.

CIVT would be the offical coverage of the Canadian athletes, and King 5 would be the offical coverage of the American athletes.

To make better my point, let's say, for example, USA gets gold in something and Canada gets Silver in the same event...CTV would most likely still camera in on the Silver and chat it up with the "Wow...you tried real hard" speach while King 5 gives USA the attention it deserves.
