CJMR 1320 Missauga

I'm trying to figure out what kind of programming does CJMR do. I look some of the website sites and it said "Chinese" but it doesn't sound like Chinese, because I know what "Chinese" sounds like. Last time I was there, CJMR have a horrible signal towards downtown TOronto. COuld someone tell me what format and program does CJMR do?

CJMR is an ethnic station and has been since the early 90's...when CJMR started in the 70's, they were more of an A/C station....In the 80's CJMR had a show called "flashback" which was hosted by Brian parroff..the morning show was hosted by Dan Woods

I loved the promo that CJMR used to give for the dan wood's show.

"now more music with dan woods on CJMR broacasting with 5000 watts of MONO power" the voice would get deeper to the end.

CJMR signal is strong in etobicoke, lakeshore area, brampton, oakville, woodbridge.

Thank-you Agreenbe. Good insight.
The current format of 1320 is multicultural (or, respectfully, ethnic, as already stated)
They were a mix of ethnic and religious until sister station 1250 CHWO moved to AM740. Then Joy 1250, a religious station was born.

1320, I thought, was intended to cover areas where 1430(another ethnic station) can not reach all that well, but I may be wrong.

1320 has some chineese programming, but also some other languages...not sure wich, because I do not speak those languages.

Re: CJMR 1320 Mississauga

1320 is the old CKGM(?) frequency which moved to 640 and became CHOG.

It was a fun frequency for them too. It was to serve York county.

CJMR started at something like 960(?) and was a daytimer licenced to Toronto Township as Mr. and Mrs. Auga was once known as...

1320 CFGM DID move in the late 80's to 640 on the dial, yes, then in late June of 1990 CFGM became CHOG 640 as "AM 640" the HOG.
Today, the hog is a a Bob/Jack/Joe style rock station. Sadly, it's no where near Toronto.

Actually, Team 990 is CKGM in Montreal. I'm very disapointed no one pointed that out. At one point it was 980 CKGM there.

CFGM was 1320, then it moved to 640 for a bit in the late 80's, and then became CHOG (AM 640 The HOG) in late June of 1990.<P ID="signature">______________
