Clarence plane crash coverage

The tragic plane crash just outside Buffalo is being covered live on the local stations. CNN is running both WIVB and WGRZ live, and WGRZ has really fumbled their coverage. They've been showing the same poor-quality Skype video for a long time, and they aren't even showing the news conference, instead relying on a viewer's cellphone audio which keeps cutting in and out. WIVB has a live camera at the news conference. I don't have WKBW here but I'm told their coverage is better than WGRZ.

My heart goes out to any families involved.

CNN really has their act together here, carrying those 2 stations. The other cable nets seem to be showing nothing but maps, YouTube video, still pictures, and phoners with random "expert" witnesses.

Seems the tables have flipped since your post... WGRZ just had a live interview with the county exec (1:50am). Meantime, WKBW appears to be showing old video over and over. I keep seeing a super with "Chris Collins" over random video but no live bug (and obviously pre-taped, when it showed up again while WGRZ had him on live).

Looks like CNN may finally be efforting WIVB - they briefly showed a still frame of a reporter holding a "4" mic flag, but then cut back to KB's feed. Must be trying to get the right signal routed through or something.

I noticed some sensationalism with the stations, reminded me of how bubble-headed bleach blondes can tell you about the plane crash with gleams in their eyes.

WGRZ had the only pictures of the crash, and that's why they were using the SKYPE video. Media wasn't allowed close enough for a little while, thus the grainy Internet footage.
