Clark Howard joins ensemble daily newscast on HLN

The American public is getting "what it wants." Didn't Comedy Central's evening "news cast" beat all of the News Channels a couple of years ago. The Weather Channel runs the reality shows during tornado warnings! Is there any hope for civilization?

Hopefully FM News 106.7 won't be like HLN, I have a dealing it will be.

I would have watched "Storm Stories," but my TV is up in a tree...across town... Didn't know the tornado was coming...

I can't stand HLN....tabloid news at its best.

Regardless, I love Clark. But HLN's early days first as CNN2 then CNN Headline News in the early to mid 80s were excellent for it's intended purpose. Including a half-hourly format clock that they never varied from. If anyone remembers the fast paced like :90 second (or maybe it was 2:00 or more depending on the sports news cycle) sports segment and :60 second news headlines segment they did 2x an hour, complete with great production values, editing, and music beds ... it was like cable news meets 80s CHR radio. You would think in today's quick paced ADD world CNN2's original format would be more relevant than ever.

"CNN Headline News I'm ..." Lyn Vaughn, Bobbie Battista, Lynne Russell, Chuck Roberts, Don Harrison ... who else?

Cannot stand the guy. So cheap, doesn't he use a toothbrush for 6 months???? His voice is like finger nails on a chalk board.

I wonder if anybody has sued The Weather Channel for running Turbine Cowboys when they have a tornado? I know the cable systems have the ability to "scroll" weather warnings but if you are on Dish or Direct I do not think there are "local" forecasts and severe weather warnings available.
